Jo is a professional makeup artist and regularly works for Channel Nine with all of their on-air presenters, journalists and guests.

Large network promotions plus ABC-TV, Channel Seven and various corporate productions. She is also experienced in special effects make-up, simulating blood, injuries and trauma.

 

Jo has completed a Certificate IV in makeup at ACMUSE (Australian College of Make-up and Special Effects).

Sound Recordist

 

Jo's also works as a field sound recordist on various documentaries, travel series, network promotions, corporate productions and live TV. 

 

She completed a course in field sound at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).

  • 3 x Lectrosonics LT & LR radio mics with Sanken COS-11B lapel mics.

Production

 

Jo has worked in Film & TV production for over ten years, as Unit Manager, Production Co-ordinator and Designer, and as on-air talent.

She is easy going, thorough, reliable and well connected, with attention to detail.

As a Unit Manager and Production Co-ordinator her responsibilities are wide and varied: liaising with producers, planning shoots, logistics, schedules, crewing, travel, visas, carnets and call sheets, negotiating with talent, actors and extras, locations, props, wardrobe, vehicles, special effects, stunts, plus risk assessments, permissions and approvals.

 

Jo has worked as a Production Designer on many shows including large multi-camera interviews, cooking and lifestyle productions as well as dramatised re-enactments for documentaries. She is responsible for managing locations, sourcing props, constructing and styling the set and planning dramatised re-enactments which simulate violet attacks, shootings, accidents, fires and explosions.

Jo appeared as on-air talent on the Nine Network's program Top Design in 2007. 

 

She has completed courses in presenting to camera and voice overs.

Personal Attributes

 

Jo is versatile and multi-skilled. She has strong problem-solving skills, highly developed communication skills and excellent organizational skills. She works effectively, diplomatically and sensitively with all members of the production team, along with actors, other contributors and members of the public. Her creative flare, attention to detail, keen eye and great work ethic within small teams is always appreciated by producers, crew and talent. Jo has also worked at Westmead Children’s Hospital as a neonatal intensive care nurse.

Jo is familiar with a variety of computer, software and online systems: Word, Outlook and Excel plus Serko (online travel) Finance One (finance) Fraedom (expenses/payments) and Xero (accounting).
